Effectively, the tariffs will be an additional 25% tax on consumers. Such increased costs and taxes will result in many consumers being unable to afford these products and other consumers reducing the amount of these products purchased… As another example, many businesses depend on these products to operate and provide their goods and services or fulfill their duties. These businesses are numerous and varied, ranging from delivery services to public safety departments. When these businesses are required to pay more for these products due to the proposed tariffs many will be forced to shrink their businesses and some will be forced to close their doors. Unemployment rates will rise.”
