Tariffs are not paid by China; they are paid by the importer; i.e., our businesses. Absorbing these added costs is not feasible; thus, we will be left with no choice to pass them down, resulting in higher retail prices. The disproportional impact these tariffs will have on average, hard-working Americans can be avoided by removing the THUS subheadings discussed in our comments.”
